Tarpon Home Watch LLC is locally owned and operated by a retired law enforcement officer, and Army Veteran  Jim Hoover, a Charlotte County Florida resident of South Gulf Cove.

 

James Hoover (Jim) brings a unique and highly qualified background to property management, making him an ideal choice for safeguarding your home while you’re away. A  Massachusetts native, Jim has been intimately familiar with the Port Charlotte area since 2002, purchasing his first local property in 2006 and now residing in South Gulf Cove. His extensive experience extends far beyond personal homeownership; as a retired Law Enforcement Officer with over 31 years of service, including supervising a major case detective unit and a four-year assignment with the Boston FBI, Jim possesses unparalleled skills in security, vigilance, and problem-solving. Jim also has a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England College. His military background as a US Army veteran working on attack helicopter electronic weapon control systems further underscores his meticulous attention to detail and ability to handle complex situations.

Beyond his impressive public service, Jim boasts a wealth of practical expertise in property maintenance and renovation. Having grown up learning from tradesmen in his family, he has a strong working knowledge of building construction, roofing, electrical, and plumbing, and even gained valuable insights into appliance and refrigeration repair from his stepfather’s business. This hands-on experience is complemented by his personal history as a landlord, having owned, renovated, and managed over 25 rental units, performing 90% of the repairs himself. This comprehensive blend of security acumen, practical skills, and a proven track record of responsible property management ensures that Jim will diligently and meticulously care for your home as if it were his own.

Jim is also an avid classic car guy with a passion for Mopar. He has owned and restored several classic Mopar’s. to include Challenger, Road Runners, and now a Plymouth Cuda.
